ALBIN RYDZEWSKI'S MILITARY RECORD Born on January 20, 1912 in Chodorowka Nowa (North Eastern Poland) Attended public schools in Suchowla. Transferred in 1932 to the Gymnasium St. Kazimierz in Nowa Wilejka (outside Wilno-today it is called Vilnius, Lithuania). There, in 1933, Albin received his first military training under the supervision of the 85th Pulk Piechoty (85th Infantry). Albin graduated from Gymnasium in 1935. Was drafted (mandatory) into the 85th Pulk Piechoty 4/3/37-8/5/38 Was mobilized to defend the City of Lwow 9/1/39 Defeated by the German Army and disarmed by the Russian Army 9/21/39 Captured by the Russian Army as he was walking back home 9/22/39 Taken to various Labor Camps: Zaporoze, Siewzeldorlog-Komi, building railways in the Siberian Tundra 9/23/39-7/17/41 Was freed under the Polish-Soviet Agreement Amnesty 7/17/41 Joined General Ander's Army and was posted to the newly formed14th Regiment, 5th Division in Tatiszczewo. While there, he was posted to the Signal Corp to undergo Wireless Operator training 7/18/41-8/14/42 Crossed the Soviet-Iranian border and thereby falling under British Command 8/15/42-1/23/43 Arrived in Blackpool, England-thru fast track Basra, Bombay, South Africa, Liverpool 3/31/43 Posted to Deputy Inspectorate General of PAF-RAF Station, Blackpool 4/11/43 Posted to the Polish Air Crew Center, RAF Station, Hucknall 4/19/43 Posted to Initial Training Wing, RAF Station, Brighton 8/14/43 Posted to the No. 25 Polish Elementary Flying Training School RAF, Hucknall 12/20/43 Posted to the No.16 Polish Secondary Training School RAF, Newton 3/20/44 Posted to Headquarters of No. 70 Group 10/26/44 Posted to the 577th Squadron RAF at Castle Bromwich 10/27/44 Posted to No. 10 Operational Training Unit at the RAF Station, Abingdon 3/13/45 Posted to the Polish 300th Squadron PAF at Faldingworth 6/1/45 Due to a gradual demobilization of the Polish Forces under British Command, was commisioned to the Polish Resettlement Corp (PRC) 12/12/46 PRC RAF Station Skipton on Swale 3/1/47 PRC RAF Castle Combe 11/14/47-12/12/48 *NOTE: While Albin was in the "PRC", he took advanced English and Electronic Courses NOTE WORTHY MENTIONING Commissioned to rank of Pilot Officer 12/1/44 Promoted to Flying Officer 6/1/45 Last Flying Mission 10/24/46 RAF Exit Interview 5/14/47 NOTE: Albin Rydzewski was a quite well mannered Officer of good character and of good general education. He was of value to the Royal Air Force, but expressed no desire to remain in the service.
